If you've come to this page then you already know the real danger radon poses.  The risk is linear.  The longer you are exposed to elevated levels of radon, the greater your risk of becoming a statistic.  One of three things can happen when your lung tissue is hit by a radon decay product.  1.  Your lung tissue is not damaged.  2.  Your lung tissue is damaged but successfully repairs itself.  3. Your lung tissue is damaged but repairs itself inaccurately.  This is what you don't want.  The damaged but poorly repaired cell becomes a cancerous growth.
